Staying Safe and Healthy in the Village

  • Guests will have their own bedroom in a house in the village and the bed will have a mosquito net. Mosquitoes are generally no more a problem in the village than in resorts across Fiji, but it is advisable to wear long-sleeved clothes and/or mosquito repellant in the evenings.
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) along with morning and afternoon tea will be provided. All bed linen and pillows will be provided but you will need to bring a towel and your own toiletries.
  • Alcohol and non-prescription drugs are prohibited in the village.
  • Only limited medical supplies are available in the village (the closest medical center is a short boat ride) so please bring your own medicines and first aid kit.
  • Guests are asked not to leave the village in the evening.
  • Filtered water will be served to guests in the village but it is advised that you bring your own water filter such as a LifeStraw (see Packing List). Filtered water will be used for the SevuSevu.
  • Inform the village of any dietary requirements at the time of your booking.
  • Use hand sanitizer regularly – please bring your own as only limited supplies are available in the village.
  • Wear long pants and sleeves when hiking in Fiji. Hats, sunglasses, and packs are fine to wear when outside the village.
  • Review your Consulate travel regulations for health and safety updates. For example, Smart Traveler (for Australians) or Travel.gov (U.S. citizens).
  • Carry the Bula spirit which means keep an open mind, be aware of Fiji (relaxed) time, and share a healthy dose of humility with a people who are among the most friendly and happy in the world.
